Yake this for a ride

You’re driving on your favorite road and you’ve got the windows rolled all the way down. The heat of the sun scorches into the car in its golden amber hue and blazes where it rests as you drive – heating your legs, your arm, your cheek.

You smirk at the delightful comfort of the radiant moment, and everything in each breath becomes more vivid as your awareness unites with all that is present.

Your eyes swim into the canvas of a flawless blue sky. And you notice that there are no white clouds, no clouds at all. Only birds can fill the open space above you. You look up at two birds gliding in the open air. Dancing in a playful rhythm, swaying, floating, drifting in the freedom of the celestial sea of flight. Chasing each other through the soft wind down to the branch of an old strong tree. They start to peep and sing – just as you drive past them and notice their colors.

Bronze and sparkling dusty dirt gets kicked up from your tires and some of it bounces off your side view mirror. In which you catch a glimpse of yourself and notice, sincerely, how beautiful you are in your candid reflection. And you feel self-love expanding from the center of you and it feels good. It feels warm and hot like the heat of the Sun that’s beating down on your skin as you drive on your favorite road on a beautiful day with blue skies and green leaves.

The passing breeze sails through your hair and barely touches your face and shoulder. It carries the smell of this moment in through your windows and tugs at your familiar reverie. The aroma of your favorite flowers floods your car and as you drive further ahead, the smell of brush burning in a backyard fire overwhelms your senses and all of a sudden you feel at home.

You smile in this moment of gratitude and simplicity. And then the radio plays a song for you that you haven’t heard in forever. You haven’t heard since you know when. And immediately you’re filled with the same feelings you felt the last time you heard that tune. Images flood your mind and butterflies tide through you to the movement of the music. Bringing you back to another moment of your life.

And there you are. Traveling through space and time with your song and sentiment.

That is the beautiful power of your brain…
